CBA WOMEN AND GENDER CONFERENCE:
A VIRTUAL APPETIZER
APRIL 25, 2025 12-5:30 pm EDT
The Catholic Biblical Association is proud to announce its first Women and Gender conference this April. The purpose is to support our membership's wide variety of scholarship, methodologies, and identities. To kick off this new initiative, we will be hosting a half-day conference in April. We call it an “appetizer” because we expect it will leave us hungry for more. To that end, we plan to host a longer conference in 2026.
We are planning two 2-hour sessions during the afternoon of April 25, followed by time for informal conversation and visioning:
- The first session will be comprised of CBA member papers that explore the intersection of gender (defined broadly) and the Bible in either the ancient or modern world.
- The second session will feature one panel and one short-form roundtable discussion focused new initiative LEAF (Literary, Ecological, and Feminist), organized by Rhiannon Graybill and Elaine James, is a new initiative fostering feminist and ecological approaches to biblical literature.
The CFP deadline was February 14th.
More information will be posted to this site as the program is developed.
