The Crown-Ryan Chair in Jewish Studies and Director of the Catholic-Jewish Studies Program at Catholic Theological Union (CTU) offers a prestigious opportunity to lead one of the nation’s foremost academic initiatives in Catholic-Jewish relations and interfaith dialogue. This role builds on a rich legacy, strengthening the understanding of Jewish tradition and fostering interreligious engagement through teaching, research, and public programming. As Director, you will continue to expand the program’s mission, collaborating with faculty, students, and community leaders to deepen Catholic-Jewish relations. This includes collaboration with the Bernardin Center and its In Good Faith Program, CTU’s tri-faith dialogue initiative among Jews, Muslims, and Christians.

The ideal candidate will hold a Ph.D. in a Jewish theological and classical textual discipline, be an accomplished scholar and educator or demonstrate the ability to become one, and have a passion for Catholic-Jewish relations. In this role, you will teach courses on Judaism, biblical studies, and Christian-Jewish relations, while also advising students and serving as a resource for faculty. You will organize and participate in conferences, engage in scholarly research, and cultivate relationships within the Catholic and Jewish communities. Additionally, you will work on programming with the Catholic-Muslim Studies Program and partner institutions. This full-time faculty position reports to the Vice President and Academic Dean and collaborates closely with the President through the Bernardin Center.
